Been ordering American-Chinese food here for decades. Have tried others in Brookline and JP, but this is the best. Consistent quality of fresh veggies and food well prepared and portioned. Sichuan orange chicken, boneless spare ribs, scallion chicken, double cooked pork, mushu, and chow fun are all good. Not particularly interesting or spicy, but then again, Chinese-American never is. Best take-out Chinese in the area!

I was cautious with this place looking at reviews, but I figured I would give it a chance. I'm glad I did, good food and a good quantity. I will be back if in the area again. Loved the rangoons.

YUM-AAYZING! This review spans 26 years! Over the years food wall has gone up and down ... possibly ownership changes? For the past 5 I'd say, it's gotten better and better ! The food quality has improved, with the meat content generally up from a deep low back about 10 years. The counter service has dramatically improved from the darkest depths of rude ( as if rude was THE 1st hiring criteria) to soo much sweeter! The prices have always been about 20% lower than similar comps. Their primary driver, who has been there for at least 15 years, is also super nice, makes you feel like you're his friend in a few seconds! Usually they're soo FAST , that have to scramble quickly to find my wallet! If I walk there to pick up, they'll always say '10 minutes' & it's always less time!! My only complaint is they keep taking out more and more standing eat-in counter space with their massive jumble of storage boxes that fills the teeney tiny entry area. It'd be awesome if they could bring back standing eat in space that doesn't feel like the back receiving room. Though I'll say I appreciate that they removed a painted on the glass name & number right at the 5-6 eye blocking the view out to Hyde square. In short, 1 of my top choices for JP food. True confession, I'm not a 'foodie' so my unsophisticated palate is not the prime 'tool'. If you're fussy, who knows if you'll be pleased , since some people never like anything. In my opinion, it's very tasty for super fast, super low priced fast food that excels in its category which is not trying to be zagat rated!

I give them 5 because it's great food to order when having drinks at the Brendan Behan.

I was really craving Chinese food tonight so I ordered delivery from Food Wall because they had a coupon for $6 off of $15. I chose the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce Combo Plate for $15.95 which came with the main dish, pork fried rice, an egg roll, and a chicken teriyaki skewer. In my rush to put my order in before things got busy, I skipped logging on to Yelp to see the recent reviews. And when I did log on while waiting for my food to arrive, I was disheartened to see a bunch of recent 1 star reviews and photos of yellow fried rice. Typically, I have never liked a yellow fried rice, as they've all been quite mushy and bland in the past. I usually prefer the very dark brown fried rice instead. However, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at what arrived. Shrimp with Lobster Sauce: The sauce was dark and really flavorful. I can see others saying it was too salty, but was still within the delicious range for my taste. It went really well on the fried rice, but the shrimp were incredibly small and almost nonexistent. Pork Fried Rice: This was the dreaded yellow fried rice. HOWEVER, it tasted just like the normal dark brown fried rice you'd expect from other Chinese places. They must just cut back on the dark soy sauce here for the coloring, but the flavor was really not so bad. Unlike some of the other reviews, mine had a good amount of pork throughout the rice, so while this didn't look appetizing at all, it tasted just fine. Egg Roll: This was pretty surprising as well - the skin was not too thick and the filling was a good balance of both meat and veggies. The duck sauce was good as well (it wasn't the bright orange stuff you sometimes get from other places). Chicken Teriyaki Skewer: Another surprisingly delicious addition. This was really juicy and tender, and the marinade had gotten into the chicken just the right amount to be sweet and salty at the same time. All in all, this was a completely different experience from what other Yelp reviews would have led me to believe. The fried rice was decent, and the rest of the dishes were above average in my opinion. I'd definitely order from here again, especially if there were another discount coupon.

I had actually been avoiding this place for a while because I was skeptical as a vegetarian, but it is right down the street from me, so I decided to give it a shot when my husband ordered food (which he has enjoyed several times). - The Sesame tofu was pretty good (the breading isn't too thick) - Chow fun noodles just tasted like pepper to me - Sautéed green beans with garlic were good - Eggplant dish was also good Note, the cold sesame noodles have fish sauce, so I couldn't try them.
